Zumrotul Faizah, M.Ed., an alumna of the English Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA), has achieved international recognition through her remarkable contributions in the field of education.
After graduating in 2020, Faizah consistently demonstrated dedication to her academic and professional growth. She earned a scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in STEM Education at National Pingtung University (NPTU), Taiwan. There, she not only excelled academically but also actively engaged in various international academic and organizational roles—serving as Secretary of the Student Executive Board at UNISMA, a member of PPI Taiwan, and Secretary for Technology Applications at World PPI.
One of her key achievements includes involvement in a Taiwanese Ministry of Education-funded research project focused on integrating 5G technology into education. Her contributions to data collection and strategy development for tech-based pedagogy played a pivotal role in the project’s success. “This experience opened my eyes to the potential of educational technology. I’m proud to have contributed to something that can impact future generations,” she remarked.
Her academic journey did not stop at the Master’s level. Due to her outstanding performance and commitment to the field, Faizah was awarded a fully funded doctoral scholarship in the same field—STEM Education—at NPTU Taiwan, continuing her path of excellence and specialization in integrating education and technology.
Faizah credits her academic success to perseverance and to the formative experiences she gained at UNISMA. “The conducive academic environment and inspiring faculty members at UNISMA played a crucial role in shaping my journey,” she reflected.
Outside academics, her active participation in student organizations and tutoring work during her undergraduate years equipped her with essential soft skills that continue to support her career today. “Every experience—inside and outside the classroom—has prepared me to embrace greater challenges,” she added.
Looking forward, Faizah envisions education that integrates innovation and technology to meet the demands of the global era. She hopes her international education can positively contribute to the development of the Indonesian education system and inspire other young educators to pursue global opportunities.
To younger generations, Faizah emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and resilience. “Don’t be afraid to dream big and take the first step. Even failure is a lesson that brings you closer to success. Achievements should benefit not only yourself but also others.”
Expressing deep gratitude to her alma mater, she said, “I hope UNISMA continues to grow as a leading institution both nationally and internationally, producing globally-minded graduates grounded in Islamic values.”
She also encourages UNISMA to expand international collaborations and foster innovation in its curriculum and facilities. Faizah believes that with continuous growth, UNISMA will become a central force in shaping future educational leaders.
To her fellow alumni, she offers this message: “Let’s stay connected and supportive, share knowledge and experiences, and together be a force for positive change. Keep learning, innovating, and becoming change agents for our nation.”
