The Department of English Language Education this year is ready to host its 5th International Conference on English Language Teaching (The 5th ICON-ELT) 2024. The conference is featured by many internationally renowned ELT scholars such as Professor Andrzej (Andy) Cirocki from The University of York, UK, Assoc. Prof. Budi Waluyo from Department of English and General Sciences, Walailak University, Thailand, and Dr. Aida Binti A. Rahma from the Language Academy of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Besides, the 5th ICON-ELT will also be attended by nationally well-known ELT teacher educators such as Dr. Umi Khairati Syam from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar and Dr. Dzulfikri, our very own senior lecturer at the ELE department. The speakers will present their current perspectives on second or foreign language learning and teaching situated in culturally diverse settings.
The conference is also co-hosted by some universities such as Universitas Nurul Jadid Probolinggo, Universitas Islam Lamongan, Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia, and Rajamanggala University of Thailand. As the conference outputs, the committee succeeds in securing a formal agreement for publications with Atlantis Press International Proceedings, JEFL, VELES, and JEES, the three are indexed in SINTA 2.
This year has marked the maximum efforts of all ELE lecturers to succeed in the conference!
