The Department of English Language Education (ELE) expands its international collaborations with the World’s Top 60th University Rankings: Universiti Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The initiated collaborations are carried out between ELE and the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, UM.

This initiative is conducted to reach UNISMA’s goal as World Class University. Among the academic programs to be done by both parties, the collaborations will start with co-supervisory activities, joint conferences, and joint research or publication among the faculty members.
The meeting was attended by Professor Surinder (Dean of the faculty, UM), Dr. Siti Zaidah Binti Zainuddin (Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean for Student Affairs), Dr. Sharifah Ayeshah Binti Syed Mohd, and other colleagues. While from ELE’s side, the delegates were Dr. Atik Umamah, Dr. Kurniasih, Dr (cand.) M. Faruq Ubaidillah, Dr (cand.) Ika Hidayanti, Dr (cand.) Diah Retno Widowati, and ELE’s final-year students.

The meeting was fully appreciated by Professor Surinder as Universiti Malaya also aims to foster international collaborations with UNISMA. The collaborations will bring positive impacts to UM’s internationalization and allow for beneficial bonds between Indonesia and Malaysia.
